In honor of Kinship Awareness Month, a Kinship Caregiver will be honored each day during the month of September in recognition of their dedication and effort in providing for the safety and wellbeing of the children in their care. Caregivers were nominated by a trusted friend, family member, or professional. In partnership with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, caregivers will receive a "wish" that offers support for family activities. Check back each day of September for a new story of courage and hope.
Today's 30 Days of Wishes post honors Susan, a staunch advocate for the child in her care. The nominator stated, "Susan has displayed perseverance, patience, and advocacy skills to meet the needs of her granddaughter."
