In honor of Kinship Awareness Month, a Kinship Caregiver will be honored each day during the month of September in recognition of their dedication and effort in providing for the safety and wellbeing of the children in their care. Caregivers were nominated by a trusted friend, family member, or professional. In partnership with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, caregivers will receive a "wish" that offers support for family activities. Check back each day of September for a new story of courage and hope.
Today's post celebrates Tom and Deborah. Their nominator stated, "They exemplify dedication to the importance of kinship care not only by providing kinship care themselves, but also by their empathic and knowledgeable support to others in similar circumstances."
