This free service helps connect Michigan’s kinship families with help available from thousands of health and human services agencies and resources across the state of Michigan. Support, Information, & Referral
Are you a grandparent, aunt, uncle, cousin, or other family member raising a relative’s child? Are you a service provider that works with kinship families?
What is a Kinship Caregiver:
Kinship care is the full time care, nurturing and protection of children by relatives, members of their tribes or clans, godparents, stepparents, or any adult who has a kinship bond with a child (Child Welfare League of America, 2011).
While kinship care is often a rewarding experience for both the child and their relative caregiver it can also come with many challenges. The Kinship Care Resource Center can help.
